This car belongs to an old friend of mine. The last time we spoke he mentioned that he wanted to have it detailed by a pro. Im no pro but since I have the next 3 weeks off I figured I'd give it a shot. This car has not been kept very well over the years. It is filled with swirls and weird dents and dings all over the car.

This job took a total of 2 days for the exterior. Total cost to my buddy...a couple of beers should cover it :props:

Products used in this order:

Pretreat rubber/plastics with APC+
Clean wheels and tires with P21S and Griots wheel cleaner. Protected with Carpro Hydro and CG hyper dressing
Foam gun with CG CW soap mixed with dawn
2 bucket wash with CG CW
Iron-X
Clay with CG fine clay mitt

Megs M101 via PC 7424 3"/orange pad and Flex 3401 6"/orange pad
Menzerna PF2500 via 3401 6"/white pad
Menzerna SF4500 via 3401 6"/crimson pad

That is an amazing correction man. I hope your buddy appreciates it and keeps the car looking that good.

Amazing work and nice recovery!!! The BMW is now looking the way it should.

So the side market lights just pop off?

What was your friend's reaction when he saw the car?

Thanks for your honest review on BlackICE.

Very impressive turn around. The black is very deep and wet looking. Excellent job on the bimmer.

Yeah, the side markers slide and pop off. He's replacing all of this lights pretty soon so I didn't bother cleaning them up.
He hasn't seen it yet, I still have the interior to do.
I really wanted to like blackice, it just didn't do it for me.

Thanks for the kind words gents. BMW black sapphire is probably my favorite black to work on.

Stellar! Did you have fun with this one? Was there any particular obstacles or road blocks?

I've also got to ask what was that make and model towel, that tub of wax was sitting on.

Top notch work Vinny! Car looks much better now that you had your hands on it! You should add FG400 to your arsenal to go along with the 3401.

You may have taken up this car as a non pro but you cranked out pro quality work. Keep up the effort and dedication.

BTW, I enjoyed the write up.

I took my time with this car, I put about 4~5 hrs per day. It's kind of nice to be on vacation when everyone else in my household is at work lol

Yeah, I always enjoy this particular bmw color. The only roadblocks are dents and thru paint scrapes. It was a paint to polish inside of the dents and the scrapes were an eye sore.

That towel is chem guys shaggy fur-ball. It's way too thick wipe off polish but works very well with LSPs

Thanks Mike. I've only used fg400 once but can't make up my mind if I like it better then m101. It did work very well with hard Audi paint though. I'll probably have to use it more when I have the chance.

Thanks, he'll owe me a few cold ones.
There were still very deep swirls but I didn't feel comfortable going down that deep.

Thanks for adding this as well... is there anything you would compair it to? or use over that you think would have done better?
Souveran fuzion etc..

Car was Trashed, and you did a very good job turning it back around. mini Daytona brush for those wheels or? and also wheel cleaner just the griots?? pretty impressed the few bmw wheels i have done required a lot of elbow grease... ie iron X every brush i could find, clay bar and even then still sometimes staining was left.

Good job!

It reminds me of dodo supernatural and their hard waxes. I would chose souveran/Fuzion over blackice. To be fair though, I think I'll give blackice another go sooner or later just to make sure if I like it or not.

I used p21s wheel cleaner but had to clean them again with Griots hd because it was still a bit dirty. I don't have the mini Daytona (only the full sized one), It may have made things easer though.
I know what you mean, BMWs tend to have pads that generate a lot of dust. I think he is using brake pads that are a bit cleaner.
Good job!

Thank you
