Going down the I70 about 10:30 at night and this happens - the old girl, me and my wife got to ride home in the front seat of wrecker. Just glad there wasn't any damage other than the tire and the nothing underneath contact the ground...

Here is a lesson in modifying a car suspension. If you want to lower a car make use all body parts and underneath parts will clear the pavement even with a blow out or flat tire. This was a complete blow at highway speeds and could have been fatal if the suspension hit the ground and causing the car to switch lanes. As you can see this is a cell phone show the distance that I had after the blow out – not much and looks like the front might of hit slightly.

Here is what the car looks like without a flat tire...

Now it is with the flat tire. To get into a lot of events, streetrods have to be NSRA Safety certified which means that if all four tires were flat no part of the car will touch the ground. What they do is measure from the lowest part of the rim to the ground and using two rulers -- then put string between them at that set measurement to see if any part of the car will touch. That is just a small part of the inspection. You go though all the steering linkage, lights and etc. it kinda hard to pass. Look for tires today and just can't get the profile and height I want and still maintain a good level of safety. Anyone knows what get brown stains out of cream color seats....:D :D :D
