Bought a "project" car

I bought a 2002 Mallett Hammer Corvette Z06 with only 6,000 miles on it. The car was in terrible shape when i bought it both cosmetically and mechanically. The car had a problem with the ABS/Traction Control/ Active Handling so it was torn apart to try and fix the problem. I bought the car in non running condition. The car had been sitting in the owners garage (original owner) for just under 4 years un covered and collecting dust and some bird crap. I got it running again and now i have some cleaning to do!

Fun facts about the car to those who don't know anything about Mallett. They are an aftermarket tuner that does complete packages. not only do they do motor work but they also do brakes and suspension. so the car can handle and stop with the increased power. All Mallett cars are documented and archived at the National Corvette Museum

-It is one of only 16 ( I think ) C5 Mallett Hammers made.
-only 6,400 miles on the odometer
-427 CID motor with heads/cam
-Vortech V2 supercharger kit
-Penske/Mallett 6-way adjustable shocks
-Mallett 4 point roll cage
-Red Devil Big brake kit w/ Titanium rotors
-Mini Tubbed w/ HRE wheels
-285/30/19 front and 345/30/19 rear tires
-Engine oil cooler, Trans cooler, Rear end cooler
-Carbon Fiber Mallett 427 Hood
-puts down 600hp to the ground (could be more with a better blower)

it was the deal of the century. I took some risk not knowing exactly what was wrong and still have to figure out the ABS problem. But its together now and running perfect. It needs a clutch. The clutch in it now is not a streetable clutch. Its an on/off switch. That will cost me some money as well as the ABS electronic controller. (which i think might be the root cause of the ABS problems) I know those a just under 2000 new. even having to spend that kind of money on it i still got a killer deal. The original owner passed away back in march and his wife never paid any attention to car stuff so she had no idea what was wrong with it. all she knew is that it there were parts on a work bench that belonged on the car and that it had not been running for over 3 years. It came with a book of receipts from Mallett that total around 75,000 in parts and labor for all the work that was done. Thats on top of the purchase price of the car when it was new!

UPDATE!!!


Got all the mechanical issues figured out! I had to install a new clutch since the one in there was not street friendly. there was also a few other smaller issues that I had to get straightened out.

I got some time to get it detailed as well. it still needs a little bit more work but it is probably 95% Here are some pics!
