I have always used this wash mitt and really like it but I am wondering if it is leaving fine scratches. I have thought about switching to a microfiber or the bone. Any likes or dislikes?

ANY wash mitts has the potential of leaving scratches, partly due to the material it is constructed from, partly because of the paint system you are putting on, and partly because of operator error (technique).

If you want to test the mitt itself, get a brand new one put it through a wash cycle, and do the CD scratch test.

Not in my experience. I've used them for 2 years with great result. 2 buckets and a grit guard with pre rinse before bucket 1 seems to release everything.
