Hello Everyone,

Can tire dressing (solvent based) damage pavement/sealer? Is there a way to clean it off if it gets on pavement. Most areas we work are gravel, but we noticed a slight stain in pavement the other day and wanted to know if that can be removed.

Thanks Everyone

Im sure a good degreaser would work just fine removing it.

Welcome to the Geek!!! I would treat it like a tire and spray some degreaser or all purpose cleaner and scrub with a broom. See if it comes off.

Blackfire APC removed a small oil stain on our driveway, so I don't see why a good APC shouldn't be able to remove it.

well its not going to damage anything.
I carry "driveway clean up". just in case my van leaks or an owner complaints about any marks left on the driveway.
you can pick us up at any auto parts store.

This is why I use a tarp if dressing tires on a driveway. My expierence is it doesn't come off. You can usually only see it when the driveway is wet. Not a good situation at a clients home.

I've tried Simple Green, Gunk, Dawn Soap, APC+, pressure washer with no luck. My neighbor did it on his driveway so I didn't have to learn this the hard way.

1Z W99 works wonders. Best Sodium hydroxide degreaser I have come across. Kicks the pants off of CLR degreaser and Zepps HD degreaser. Its $$$, but its worth it.

Straight Megs D103 APC+ works well too

Thank you everyone for the wonderful input.

I am getting guards to place under the tires until we get our car mat.

We are in a rural area so not too much pavement.

Thanks

My neighbor had a situation where he used Tire Wet and it left marks on his driveway for months. They showed up during a torrent we had here a few weeks back. Driveway was soaked except for where the excess Tire Wet fell. Really odd.
