It was raining most of the day Sunday in the 'burgh, so there wasn't much opportunity to do any detailing-related projects in the driveway. Sitting on a stool at my workbench, I decided to do a little Dad's Day detailing in memory of my late father.
One of the items I kept after his passing was a section of his 50's era tool cabinet. Like most flat-rate mechanics, he'd wipe his tools off with a solvent-dampened shop rag, occasionally giving the toolbox a wipe with the same rag. 50+ years of greasy hands mandated a deep cleaning but non-abrasive AIO, so I tried a test spot with DG501.

It took multiple passes with a 3" orange pad on my GG, but we were making some progress without removing an undue amount of old finish

Eventually we got it reasonably clean, so it was time to reattach the newly polished hardware and give it a coat of the most durable wax on my shelf, Collinite 476.http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee388/kaminokids/Detail%20Forum%20Pics/df054624-eb5f-4bce-a492-b7c994a1e515.jpg
Still looks a bit war-torn, but it's now ready for another 50 years.

Good stuff!

That is an antique Snap-On box.

That puppy has got to be worth some money, not that you are going to sell it with all the memories attached to it. Good job and it looks 100 percent better.

Nice! Over on Garage Journal forum I know some guys would jump on that real quick. They're crazy about those boxes.
