Hello my fellow AGers,

I was curious if you guys knew anything about this new 'coating' called Zurich Shield. My friend had just got a used 2007 Mercedes CLK from the dealership and they offered her a better finance deal if she chose to have that Zurich Shield coating installed. I told her that she probably got duped since it was a dealer installed option. She told me the warranty covered that product for seven years and that it was for the interior & exterior. I went to their website and it didn't say much except it would protect the paint from oxidation and normal wear & tear.

My opinion without seeing it is that my friend pretty much got worked over by the dealership on that one. Sounds like snake oil to me by all means because only thing I know that lasts years on years would probably be Opti-Coat 2.0 coating. She hasn't brought me the car to look at yet, but I'll bet it is full of scratches and swirls that are locked under this coating.

What do you guys think or know about this Zurich Shield thingy?Feed back please

they offered her a better finance deal if she chose to have (product)....

This is a violation of federal law. Dealers and their lending institutions are not allowed to "sweeten a deal IF you buy this too"...

They'll still do it, but it's against the law.

Zurich used to push Simoniz.. Sounds like they've come up with their own special sauce!
