No. But those who do shouldn't drive around with them hanging out. Way more of an eyesore than a couple of license plate screw indentations. Must be a pain to have to stop before you park so you can take it out. Maybe that's why everyone drives around with those hideous contraptions.

Instructions say not to drive with it. Popping the trunk when
one parks seems better than bumper damage. Anybody?

I live 45 minutes North of New York City. When I drive on I87 I see lots of cars with these bumper bullies because if you have a car and live in the city, just about every car has scratched up and dented bumpers because of parallel parking. Almost everywhere you go you must parallel park in the city, so this helps.

They should NOT be kept on while driving though, but, people do.
