I am on my vacation/ stay-ca-tion from work.
I promised the wife to work on some house projects that I've been putting off for months. She thinks I spend too much time on working on cars and really would like to see some of these tasks being accomplished this week.
As I walked through the garage, I saw the new Buff & Shine MF cutting pads sitting in the corner (they arrived a few days earlier) and I just couldn't help myself.
This is the close up of the defect on the paint.

After the usual prep (wash and clay), I took my flex and went to town on a panel with the MF pad and M101. 2 passes later..... A lot better but not quite there yet.
Note: The B&S MF was playing nice with the Flex 3401. I didn't experience any grabbiest. It felt almost like I was using foam. It actually felt better than my go-to MF pad....OPT MF cutting Pad. For a quick comparison, I did a small section with the OPT MF. I had a hard time telling the difference as far as the result was concern. The action was smoother with the B&S pads but it did however generated more heat on the surface than OPT.

I wasn't completely happy with the result so I grabbed my LC Purple Wool Foam and did the section adjacent to it. Few passes later. Much, much better.
Note: The surface seemed cooler after the use of the wool pad versus the B & S pad. Weird.....

The test spot dictated that the wool pad was better for this situation. I did all the panels with the wool pad followed by SF4000 on a LC Hybrid Polishing pad. A thin layer of sealant was applied immediately after a wipe down with CarPro Eraser.
Here is the Unveiling.
TA..DA!!!!

When the wife saw this, she was speechless. She just walked back to the house and didn't say a word for the rest of the day regarding the other house projects. Even now....I am not sure she was impressed, shocked, or mad.
There are five things I learned.
1. The B&S MF pad worked just as well on the 3401 as OPT but with a smoother buffing experience.
2. Be sensitive to the surface temperature when using the B & S Pad.
3. The LC Wool Foam will still the pad of choice when dealing with really nasty paint.
4. I never thought I could do anything that would make my wife speechless.
5. I now have the shiniest dryer in the neighborhood.
