Ready to get into Paint Correction

Ok guys I have been researching this a ton, but I still feel completely overwhelmed. I am looking to get into detailing and paint correction and I am about ready to order some products. I am torn between Chemical Guys for some of the products or just going with the Adam’s as a complete line of my products.

I will without a doubt be going with Adam's new 2 step process and I am unsure if I need to get the PC or the Flex. I will honestly only detail about 5 vehicles a year unless it turns into a side business (doubt it due to time). This is the Adam’s kit that I plan to buy, and then I will add either more adams or CG’s products to get me everything that I need

I was wondering what do all you guys use and prefer? If I can save some money by using a different company I will use CG's just not sure how they stack up next to Adams. I don't mind spending more money if it is truly that much better.

Also I was looking at foam guns (no pressure washer) and i was wondering if anyone had used this one?

Also I was looking at waxes and was wondering if for a DD would this wax do good enough?

All those products will work, the key to doing professional quality work is to use good abrasive technology as this ensures that your going to get great results.

My best advice if you're new to detailing is to practice doing a Test Spot on any car you've never worked on before and make sure you're getting the results you want in one small section before buffing out the entire car.

Also, if you're doing this for money, be sure to match your services to your customer's needs, don't try to make money doing show car detailing for people that own daily drivers.

I wouldn't go with Adam's Foam system just yet. Wait for their new polish system to come out and microfiber system, they'll come out with some kit for it.

You think that the Microfiber pads are going to be the way to do it? I can order the MF pads on their site right now.

I think the new 2 step system is much better than their previous 3 step system. And microfiber pads require less pads, but more cleaning. I think though that soon enough they'll have a kit coming up which will be cheaper packaged together. Although if you use the code FINALLY you'll get 15% off of the new polishes and pads. But that's if you choose to go with them, you can get great results with other products such as M105/205, Menzerna FG400/SF4500, and many many others.

I just can't decide on the Flex or the PC...I only plan to do a few rides with it (who knows if I start doing it on the side) but they will all be fullsize vehicles. I just don't know if the Flex is worth the additional $180-200

They had a link on their forum to them, but I also didn't see them if you go directly to their site. I believe they're still in the process of adding everything.

I've never had much luck with Adam's polishes in the past. They don't have as much cut as I would like, but this is mainly because they market products that are safe for even the most inexperienced users to use. I'm just wondering how the quality/cut of these pads will compare to the Optimum pads/Uber pads/etc.

When I was very, very young...and living on the farm:
I had intentions of becoming a plowman...(a clod-hopper, if you will)...
when I grew up. Things didn't pan out that way, though.

A complete novice with a Flex needs training, before going off on their own, even with a PC. The Flex has "power" which will produce great results if used properly. So can a novice be trusted with a Flex on a customers car?(The world may never know "Tootsie Pop")
