Caution: I lost my mind taking pics! Sorry.

This vehicle is from a repeat customer but I haven't done a vehicle for him yet with a coating, so this was going to be the first. Opti Guard it was. You would think this vehicle would be easy to do, but all the 90° angles make it tough. He also wanted the roof polished and sealed as well.

Oh, and by the way, I got to beta test a new DG trim dressing/coating. Why do I call it a coating? It is believed to last a year. More on that later.

Here it is as it arrived:

First up was to remove the rear tire:

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0851.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0851.jpg.html)

Wheels/Wells/Tires/Barrels

The tires were cleaned with Zep 505.
The wells were shot with Zep Citrus and then cleaned with a wheel woolie from the wheel wash bucket.
The faces were shot with ZC too and then washed with a mitt with DG 901.
The wells were cleaned with LATA and a brush.

Here is a tire after having been sprayed only (no agitation yet) with 505:

Next up came a foaming with Megs Hyper Wash and a bit of DG 901 thrown in for good measure.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0856.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0856.jpg.html)

The paint got polished with my 3401 and an orange B/S pad with PF. There were some scratches that needed 105 and wool. There were a few chips and scratches that needed filling too. One was so fine, that I used a needle to get the paint inside the scratch. The polishing was followed by an ERASER wipe down. This was on Saturday and the forecast was crappy for Sunday, so I got some shots of it just polished. No trim dressing, no tire dressing, only paint was done at this point:

Now that I knew I'd have respectable shots, I brought it back in to coat. The wheels and paint got coated with OG, including the roof. Next up was the trim. I got to try a new trim sealant Jerry's been working on. I was so happy I got it in time for this vehicle too! I set it up in a small spritzing spray bottle and used either a tire applicator or a foam applicator depending on the location.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/null.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/null.jpg.html)

Here is a 50/50 shot of it on the running board:

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0873.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0873.jpg.html)

The interior was vacuumed, steam cleaned where necessary and the leather and plastic were cleaned with an AG interior pad and Opt PC at 3:1.
The glass was done with a KD cloth.
The tires were shot with DG Wet shine via air gun and leveled with an applicator (Not done until outside shots).

Here are a few inside finished shots:

And finally for just a very few more outside finished shots...and I DID get lucky with the weather too:

Hey Richy,

This is another fabulous job and you deserve more credit that usual. I have a 2013 Jeep Sahara, black, and it's probably one of the most time consuming SUV's to detail.

Jeeps in my opinion are one pain in the ass to detail. Because of their design, they have more obstacles to contend with that require taping and seams everywhere that collect dirt and debris.

There's hinges, air vents, door locks, rubber bumpers, hinges, hood clasps, door handles, hinges, seams, rubber trim, plastic trim, hinges, textured hardtop that butts up to gloss paint etc, etc, etc.... all which require taping from one degree to another. The rear tire must be removed to clean and detail correctly. Jeep apparently has done away with the spare tire hinge leaving all those non removal obstacles to tape and work around...:buffing:

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0852.jpg

Not only did the Jeep come in pretty grubby and leaves looking better than the Bat Mobile it's leaving polished and Opti-Coated! Another outstanding job and great photos! :props:

Bobby, man oh man do I hear you on the PITA factor on these things! I did a lot more by hand just to be safe than I wanted to due to the time. This job took longer than I had anticipated. Having said that, I will never introduce a machine to an area where it has potential to do damage. Hopefully now with the OG on it, he will find it easier to keep clean! He loves this more than the Hummer that he has (that I've done for him too).
I really appreciate your kind words!

AMEN to the PITA, LOL. Thanks!

That came out great...but I just don't understand that hood graphic. I first noticed it on the in-the-garage shot and I thought "boy, Richy's garage ceiling has a crappy paint job"...what is that supposed to be, tiger stripes? Maybe on a different color Jeep it would make sense, but it just looks stupid on the black.
