Everglades BMW Club at Autogeek! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/65676-everglades-bmw-club-autogeek.html)

This last Saturday members from the Everglades BMW Club (http://www.bmwccaeverglades.com/) caravaned to Autogeek here in sunny Stuart, Florida for one of my Saturday Car Club Mini Clinics.

There were approximately 20 members who attended and had a chance to see how to safely remove swirls, scratches and water spots using Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover and Wolfgang Finishing Glaze with both the Porter Cable 7424XP DA Polisher and the Flex 3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polisher.

There were a few members that had never tried out detailing clay to remove contaminants off paint so after wiping the car clean using Detailer's Waterless Auto Wash (http://www.autogeek.net/waterless-auto-wash.html) we clayed the paint.

Thank you!

A special thanks to Al Fortuna for helping to organize and coordinate this event and a huge thank you to all the members that drove in the rain to be here last Saturday!

I hope you all had as much fun as I did and thank you for trusting Autogeek with your BMW for our principals of polishing paint demonstration!

For the guys that want to know what we used to remove all the swirls and scratches out of the finish of the BMW demo car, here's a list...

On Autogeek.net

The below polishes also come in 8 ounce and 32 ounce options and these use some of the best abrasive technology around. I just sent these same products to my buddy Kevin Byrd of "Two Guys Garage" to use on his BMW.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 16 oz (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-total-swirl-remover-car-polish-3-0.html)

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0 16 oz (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-finishing-glaze-finishing-polish-3-0.html)

Wolfgang Füzion Carnauba Polymer Estate Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-fuzion-carnauba-polymer-car-wax.html)

Here's the clay, since the owner had just clayed recently we used the Pinnacle Clay as it's an "Ultra Fine" grade and safe for frequent use on daily drivers.

Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay (http://www.autogeek.net/ultra-fine-poly-clay.html)

We used the Porter Cable with 5.5" LC Flat Pads

Porter Cable 7424XP (http://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-7424xp.html)

Lake Country 5.5" Flat Pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-beveled-edge-pads.html)

5" Lake Country Backing Plate (http://www.autogeek.net/lc43125.html)

We used the Flex 3401 with 6.5" CCS Pads

Flex 3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polisher (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-orbital-polisher.html)

Lake Country 6.5" CCS Pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lc-ccs-6inch-pads.html)

If you have any questions at all you can call Nick or any of our Customer Care Staff at,

Thanks for posting Mike.

Its nice to see fellow BMW owners taking part in your hands on training to further their inderstanding on how to take care of their investment to the fullest.

Using mostly German products on a German car is icing on the cake.

Normally I try to take more pictures but these mini clinics are only 3 hours long so it's hard to take a lot of pictures...

One thing about the members of this club is it was very apparent they are passionate about their cars and we had some very nice examples on hand. We might see a Laguna Seca Blue BMW back for a show car makeover in the near future. Looks something like this...

Good to hear! And don't forget my last Detailing Boot Camp Class is September 28th and 29th. I only teach 3 of these a year and the one in September fills up faster than the rest.

We also have our Thursday Night Classes and for the next three Thursdays we have some pretty cool projects coming up...

Sign-up: 24" Baja 232 Extreme Makeover - Thursday June 6th (http://www.marine31online.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51)

Sign-up: 1963 Plymouth Fury Drag Race Car - Show Car Makeover! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sign-up-project-cars-clinics/65688-sign-up-1963-plymouth-fury-drag-race-car.html)

1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery - June 20th (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sign-up-project-cars-clinics/63773-sign-up-1955-chevy-sedan-delivery-june-20th.html)

And the date for this project is still to be determined...

1940 LaSalle Convertible - Wetsand, Cut and Buff (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sign-up-project-cars-clinics/65687-1940-lasalle-convertible-wetsand-cut-buff.html)

Anyone looking for the action has found the right forum...
