I got a bottle of touch up paint from dealership and was trying fix some rock chips of the hood. Some of them are down to primer, so I guess I have to do multiple coats :(

When I checked my car this morning to see how the touch up paint works. I found that the paint sinked into the chip and the surrounding blobbed. Is wet sanding the only way to remove the excess touch up paint around the rock chips? or should I just compound it?

Don't quote me, but I imagine this technique could work, but who knows. I don't know for sure.

Continue to build up the layers in the chip until its slightly over the level of the panel. You will want to level it with some wet dry sandpaper polish then was or seal. Some lay a light coat of clear over the chip after leveling the paint.
