I bought the Grit Guard Pad Cleaner and I love it!

However, I'm still struggling with cleaning the pads that have wax and sealant in them. I can clean compounds and polishes out of the pads but I am having a harder time with the waxes/sealants. I started soaking them in warm water a while before cleaning them, and it seemed to help some but I'm still struggling. I'm using the PRS(Pad Re-newer Solution) that came with Grit Guard Cleaner.

Any suggestions??

Thanks guys!!

Well sealants and waxes in pads sorta stay in there for life. Many have tried and many have failed to clean.

Most of us dedicate the pad specifically for that LSP and leave it.

You can try to the only method I know.

Soak in Mineral Spirits over night, rinse out, soak in IPA over night.

Sorta the only thing that works

Dawn Power Lift works great, but its no match for sealants that have soaked into the pads.

You can try Dawn dish soap or and APC Just know that these sealants and waxes are water resistant and will require some work to get most of the product out.

If they are meant to keep your paint protected you can bet they are going to be tough to get out of the pads!

Dude, I just made a video on this!! Waxes and sealants have not been able to withstand the way I clean them as shown in the video :D

Two suggestions:

1. Mineral spirits mixed with IPA soaked overnight

2. Or, I made this crazy contraption out of a grit guard and bucket for blasting dirt out of mitts, pads, applicators, or whatever with a pressure washer

You blast it clean through the top of the bucket with a pressure washer (maybe hose):

All the junk comes out the bottom of the bucket:
