I like the 3M line Auto Geek sells it to.

I use the 3M line myself at times, I've always had good luck with it. Keep in mind though, the 3M line is meant to be used with a rotary, and doesn't work well with an orbital. I would suggest either the Blackfire SRC duo, or Menzerna, as those will work well with either orbital or rotary polishers.

Yes, both of those can be used with either style machine.

I suggest a test spot on the VW with M205 with LC grey pad.
The results should give you an indication whether you have soft or hard paint on the VW and then better suggestion on polish can be recommended.

However, if I may... you have very good polishes with M105 and M205. I would suggest you master these polishes and experiment with different pad selections before you move on to other polishes.

when I first bought the polisher back in march I did a test spot on my parents 2007 black jetta that is in bad condition...I did M205 with a orange pad and got no results then I tried M105 with an orange pad and it only got a little bit better...does that mean hard paint?

Yes. Traditionally VW are known for having hard clears.
