Hi everyone. I just got my order from AGO. And can't wait to try out the P21S Polishing Soap. This soap works well, but my problem is how to remove the stain/dirt inside/under the exhaust tip? Thanks in advance!

Wet some #0000 Steel Wool with water and then rub the steel wool into the P21, then clean exhaust.

I tend to try and stay away from steel wool. I would try a metal polish and a good amount of elbow grease.

Why? Does it scratch?

Clay might remove it.

You do risk the possibility of it scratching the metal. In my opinion it is always worth it to take out whatever risk for a little more work.

I have the same problem on my Aura tips. I've done 0000 steel wool with metal polish and it's still there. It's as if some of the chrome finish is gone.

Dam I hate exhaust tips with a passion. If they did not have some type of product applied before any build up baked on its nearly impossible to remove. I'd try a stainless steel razor blade. Try to "shave" it off. IMO getting it to look metallic instead of black is all the customer is after in cases like these. If they were removable tips I'd suggest soaking them in something that would loosen carbon build up. You might be able to rig something up that would soak them, old plastic bottle cut up perhaps, and a little duct tape. Never know that's just what I'd try next.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (Original) eats the black deposits for breakfast. Try it and see for yourself.

P21 Multi Surface Finish Restorer is another option to consider. I've had great luck with cleaning my own tips. Reviewed it here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/81686-p21s-s-multi-surface-finish-restorer-review.html

Steel wool will get those tips clean - but scratch them to hell. Depends how picky you are.... If you want "clean and shiny"- get a Brillo pad and go to town. IME clay and Magic Erasers won't touch it.

Those exhaust deposits are likely baked on and will need to be removed with a quality chrome polish that won't scratch the chrome in the process. Initially, chrome can be safely cleaned with Megs Wheel Brite.

The best stuff I have found to remove that stuff is P21S MSR. You will likely need some type of machine polish tool (drill) with cotton/wool attachment to get them perfect.

Once they are perfect - P21S Polishing Soap every other wash will keep them that way. Again, this is not the fastest, cheapest, or easiest way - but, IME its the best way for a factory new look.

That is my regimen.

You might want to give Nevr-Dull a try.
