Just saw the news get posted on Jalopnik. A mobile car detailer picked up a Ferrari 458 Italia and wrecked it on the highway in Portsmouth UK. I'm thinking mobile should mean the car gets detailed right where it is. Apparently not!

Seems like the detailer thought it would be a good idea to turn the traction off  I sure hope he had insurance!!

The barrels on the left side are going to be much easier to do now.

I think Poorboy's World has a product that will fix that.

Those are the morons that gives us detailers a bad reputation. I hope he has insurance to cover the damages.

Funny this one shows up today. I was pondering earlier why anyone would let a detailer DRIVE their super expensive collector car, super car, etc. to be detailed? I mean I have a neighbor that has a 7 car garage at the house and cars in warehouses all over. And while I don't get into doing mobile, I could work on his cars that are at the house because it's just the other end of the street. BUT... if the cars were in storage somewhere it'd be much easier to just have the car transported to your shop/home/studio and go from there. From there the owner could drive it back, all nice and shiny OR it could be transported back. For the cost of those detail jobs adding another $300~$400 for a two-way transport isn't a deal breaker. (And I used to transport hi-lines for a living... a rollback is the way to go!) :)
