yes, but that will be all its good for. do you have a harbor freight near you? if so, go buy a DA polisher there. cheap, and it works!

At the very least order a DA from Harbor Freight instead of buying the ones on the shelf at your local auto parts store. Trust me, you will thank us later.

well, most go with a Porter Cable, if you want to spend the money go for it! but i have a HF one and it has done the job and more than half the cost of a PC.

That is the one, use a discount coupon with it. Get a better backing plate

What is a good backing plate and what's the difference between backing plates?

What is a good backing plate and what's the difference between backing plates?

For my Griot's DA, I also ordered the 5" backing plate from Lake Country, so I could use 5.5" pads which IMHO are easier to control and are more suited for the Griot's machine. I think you'll find most here will agree - I've been very happy with the Griot's machine - as a weekend guy it does all I need it to. The machine comes with a 6" plate which will work fine but you'll need to use 6.5" pads with that backing plate.

I also added a smaller backing plate later so I could use 4" pads, which is nice for smaller areas.

Of course I then ordered the 3" Griots DA polisher to supplement the 6" - it becomes kind of a sickness. :buffing:
