I included these in my first AG order:

I was planning to use them with compound and polish to work by hand in small recessed ares like handle wells and similar. Will they work for that or do I need something different?

I also got the green MF towels:

They are super soft and I love the fluorescent green color. They have plastic, made in china, stickers. I remove the stickers before use, right? They came unwrapped in the box. Do I wash them before the first use? How often do you wash them. Ie: how big area can you wipe before washing?

Thanks!

I've heard that some people wash them first because some colored microfiber towels bleed color. That is for the ones that are not pre-washed.If it doesn't say just wash them to be safe.Yes,pull any tags or stickers to avoid scratching the paint. As far as the Meg's Even Coat applicator,I've never used one so I don't know how they perform.Mike Phillips recommends using a cut up foam from a polishing pad to get those hard to reach areas a buffer will not reach.I've used the cut up pieces from a foam pad and it works great!:xyxthumbs:

Any ideas how much it's safe to wipe with one MF towel before washing?

That's up to how much dirt the towel picks up, no one can suggest anything really. Personally, I have about 20 towels for each job, polish removal wax/sealant removal, wheels, interior, windows etc....so one towel won't get the entire job done, you need lots of quality towels.

I've always had better luck polishing anything by hand with foam over microfiber. If they are Meg's I'm sure they are fine though. Polishing by hand has always been hit or miss for me. Maybe I use too much pressure or over polish, I'm not sure.

But if you have a DA, invest in some 3" pads and a 3" backing plate. They will fit pretty much anywhere and you get all the benefits of machine polishing.

As for the towels, I never wash them first. But I do inspect them for anything that maybe stuck to them. I've never had an issue doing it that way. You may want to consider getting some microfiber detergent to wash them with. Blackfire makes a top notch one. Always remove all the tags.

I hope you meant 20 towels for the entire job and not each stage.

Lets say I do polishing of a small sedan (one section at a time of course). Do I need more than 1 towel to wipe the entire car after polishing?

Thanks!

I would use more than one towel. It can only hold so much. And no, I meant 20 for each stage. I have about 100 various towels. You'll need more than one towel. I'd say 4 min for each stage. But that's just me.

Yes remove the stickers(labels) and wash before use.....just good pratice IMHO,you never know where they have been before you got them.

as far as the Megs applicators they will work for your intensions but I have found that these work much better for what you want to do
