Hey guys and girls. I'm looking at building a website as soon as possible and want to know who everyone goes through. I tried snap pages but I honestly hated it.

Budget is anything right now, nothing ridiculous though.

Thanks!

You might have sorted this by now but these guys are good... How to build a website in a few easy steps with 1&1 (http://website.1and1.com/how-to-build-a-website) a friend of mine uses them so don't know much about it myself.

I traded services and detailed a guy's car (and got some excellent before& after pics) and he built my website using Weebly.com. I maintain it and add pages and pics fairly easily.

I used Weebly to do mine. Did it all myself (you can be the judge of whether it sucks or not). It's free except for the cost of registering your domain name. Their tutorials are excellent. I was a 47 year old dinosaur at the time, so if I could do it...anyone can!

I use ipage drag and drop builder very easy to use. You should keep it simple and easy to use I have customers all the time that say my website is easy to use and straight to the point.

Can anyone tell me how to get your website to show locally on google.

For instance when I type in detailing it comes up with some websites and also local detailing shops near my location. Do we have to register for that somehow? Or is this automatic?

Key words. When search engines do website crawls, they look at tags/key words in the meta data. Example, my business is photography, so i use "photographer", "wedding", "portrait photographer", "pro photographer", and of course my city location.

Search engine optimization can be tricky, I'd suggest spending time reading up on it.

As for the thread topic, I built my own using Adobe Flash. There's a newer program called Adobe Muse that's much more user friendly if you're not familiar with coding.

Best bet is Wordpress.org + whatever hosting site you like (they have suggestions listed). Purchase a good looking template from a place like Themeforest.net. Something simple, eye-catching...

Visit some of these sites, and click "Live Preview" to see them in action.

Responsive Knowledge Base (http://themeforest.net/item/responsive-knowledge-base-faq-wordpress-theme/3434096?WT.ac=category_item&WT.seg_1=category_item&WT.z_author=PressApps)

Scroller (http://themeforest.net/item/scroller-parallax-scroll-responsive-theme/4858606)

Wordpress can also meta tag your site so it shows in search engines.

I'm using weebly per recommendations from others, but I wanna make sure when someone types in detailing and they are locate near me, that I show up along with pdq and all the other guys in my area. So I'm wondering if it just goes off of wordplay on your site and a quick location search on the site as well
