The Ultimate Black worked well on my last car's (Mazda3) exterior plastic. Never looked greasy, never ran off during weekly washing and rain, but it also seemed to work differently on plastics on different vehicles. I recently tried out CG Natural Shine water-based dressing, and in Florida, the morning dew made that stuff roll right off the plastic and it looked nasty. Haven't used it since. The Ultimate Black didn't work well on that same plastic, either. I've got a 2013 Scion tC and the exterior plastic doesn't seem to like any dressing I've used so far.

Don't feel lonely. The Wife's Toyota Sienna has the same problem. Most of the plastic is smooth and not textured. That plastic gets Duraglossed which is the best I have found. I tried 303, Dlux, UTTG and a bunch of others. Only to return to 601/501 Duragloss. The UTTG works well on the textured luggage rack tho.

+1 wash or rain will take it off.

Yeah from the work I did I felt like it was just masking it, not truly correcting it. If I did want to really correct it, What would you guys recommend? Including technique.

There are lots of good quality trim products out there. Perl and D LUx are very well recieved. Personally I've gotten wonderful long lasting results with either 303, DG 301, or DG 271. The Duragloss products are an excellent value in my experience. As far as technique: make sure the trim is clean before application, then rub it in with a microfiber or an applicator of some kind.

Yeah I keep hearing Duragloss, so will probably be looking into that.

Yeah I cleaned in with car shampoo, then used a microfiber towel and a little brush to get into the nuke and crannies.

That's how precise I am with my detailing. Even Nukes are ok.

Didn't want to Google the proper spelling for it. You should know what I meant lol 😎

I would try some DLUX for long lasting results. Just make sure you spend adequate time prepping the surface to remove all the old dressings. That is the part that takes the longest.

Good test though. It is cool to try out different products.
