Cool car, just needed some care on the interior and paintwork.

Car was washed and clayed.

Not much contaminates, but had some. After drying the car, it was time to evaluate the real condition of the paintwork, and I could find almost everything.

Nasty buffing trails on the hood
A bird dropping on the hood probably left some marks on the clear coat. Someone tried to remove by buffing it with a wool pad.

Respray

Right rear fender has been resprayed. Painting measures indicated 370+ microns. Overall readings were averaging 110.
Color was matching but the clearcoat had lots of orange peel. Had to wetsand with Trizact 3000 and 5000 to get nice reflections back again.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ntRVYH31KYs/UYVjN-pxQvI/AAAAAAAAEn0/PiA2AnmMvHk/w383-h575-no/87.jpg

Few scratches were there too, but no close-up pics thou.

Game Plan

- Rotary with Megs polishing pad + Megs ultimate compound:

Found it a very nice combo. UC can be worked longer than 3M compound I used to use. Worling the product properly, left an almost transparent film, easy to buff off

SONAX Nano Paint Protect

The whole car was wiped down with a degreasing solution used for painting. Removed any oils from the paint to 1) make sure no defects were filled and left behind 2) prep. the surface for SONAX NPP.

I always give props to those who tackle black cars since they are perhaps the hardest to perfect.
