This Cayenne Turbo S had not had a proper detail before, so it was definitely due for some good correction. After measuring the paint thickness and finding it to be pretty thin, it was decided that the LSP would be Opti-Guard to permanently protect the small amount of clear the Cayenne had and add a couple microns of material back. Two full days into this beastly SUV.

As I was on a tight deadline, I didn't take a lot of pics. Here are the photos after compounding was done.

I brought Drew out again to assist me with the medium and final polishing. As always, his work was superb.

Love that color! I have a VW GTI to do in a few weeks and it has a similar blue color. Did you apply opti-coat to the wheels?

Great work, nice color. Is the paint hard or soft?

Thanks

I just had one of these yesterday in black. I found the paint to be somewhat soft. Seemed like it had taken a beating from rock marks and whatnot and had REALLY taken a beating from the local automated car wash. Had a few fixers on the doors that were very easy to pinpoint as car wash scratches.

Turned out perfect!

I do have an operational question.

How do you polish the color strips inside the aluminum painted door handles? I saw one once that had been polished and the polish had gone right through the silver. Three of the handles had to be replaced. And that was done by a DEALER!
