Well first off, not sure if this is supposed to go here or in the university section so sorry if I put it in the wrong section. Now on to the question, about 3 weeks ago I took my 2012 ram mudding and left the mud on for 10-14 days(it was supposed to rain a lot so I was gonna go mudding again) but after washing it off I have "ghosting" of where the mud was so just trying to figure out what it would take to remove them. However I've only noticed it on the passenger side and not the driver. I'm not too worried about it but I have a feeling it'll hurt my chances at a charity car show coming up in the 18 and under category. Anyways on to pics,

Just mudded

After rinsing off then washing at a laserwash

Truck from a distance

What would needed to be done to remove the ghosting? I'm guessing full correction?

When you washed, did you just hose it off, or are you using some media that touches the truck.

That'd be some crazy etching from mud. I would of thought that a good hand wash would take care of those outlines, like those would be left over from pressure washing the mud off but not from the actual motion of washing it with a mitt and soap. Do you have any polishes or pads to test on it, if you do have to go to that stage?

Rinse with a hose and nozzle, then went to a laser wash(touchless) which is where the close up pic came from, then took it to a touch machine car wash(last pic, distance one)

See above for cleaning methods and stages. And I have no polishes or anything like that other than a bottle of turtle wax rubbing compound that I used on my mom's car to remove scuffs. I'm just a basic occasionally wash the car on weekends kind of person with OTC Walmart/parts store products

It's a 2wd truck with street tires on it lol. But that's actually going through a puddle that went up to my rockers I wanna say and almost got me stuck. And as far as trashing it, that's another discussion all together

There's your problem. The mud had tried and that's a base layer. Just give it a good wash at home with a mitt and it should go away. I've cleaned plenty a muddin trucks, so I'm pretty confident in that being the case.

Awesome, thanks! I'll probably hand wash it tomorrow(meguiars gold class) and come back with the results
