Hi all,

I have a 12' Jeep Wrangler, and I got some wax/buffer marks on the fender flares. I've tried a multitude of chemicals, and they still won't come off. Any tips to fix this?

Thanks
Vito

There you go. (I know I was supposed to tape it down. Newbie mistake)

Looks like wax stains. What chemicals have you tried?

Have you tried an All Purpose Cleaner and a brush like this:

Tried home remedies (after a quick google), including WD-40
I did try Meguiars APC..but i did not use a brush or spend that much time agitating it.. What was the dilution in that video?

That was straight. I like that APC for the specific purpose of cleaning out wax of stained trim because it foams and is safe on black plastic.

Too bad it costs an insane amount (when you factor in the low low low dilution rates). It can only be diluted 1:1 or max 1:2 in my opinion.

How about the Meguiars APC?

How about the Meguiars APC?

not always safe on black plastic and Meguiars APC foams, but Meguiars APC+ doesn't like to.

If it doesn't discolor your trim (always check in a inconspicuous spot first) it should work however. I just like my foam and knowing I'm safe :)

I have APC+. I'll try it non-diluted and report back with results..

I find an eraser pad (like a magic eraser) it great for plastics like this. Griots dried on wax remover and Griots rubber prep find handle this otherwise.

I was initially worried by the "buffer stains" part. Saw a jeep liberty that had some hack bodywork done and there was a burn on the trim. Cant fix that

Take a look at these:

1.) Wax Remover, trim wax stain, white wax, molding, rubber, plastic, black rubber, porous rubber, black plastic, wax residue, remove wax from trim (http://www.autogeek.net/wax-remover.html)

^^^(I like the Griot's Dried On Wax Remover)^^^

2.) Stoner Trim Shine: Instant shine spray to enhance rubber and plastic trim! (http://www.autogeek.net/stontrimshin.html)

^^^Pretty good stuff also^^^

3.)

^^^Put a small amount on a soft cloth and gently rub wax away^^^

The good news is that the APC undiluted did work, but I had to thoroughly wash the APC off afterwards, but it all came off.

I'm going to go ahead and purchase the Griots wax remover for future details..
