Here's an oldie but a goodie. This is after just doing the hood on an '85 Corolla (http://www.pbase.com/bryanh/image/58997172/original) several years ago:

I haven't had anything that bad since, maybe because I use IronX beforehand to get some contaminants off first.

After only 1/3 of the hood on a 2009 BMW 525i... car was terribly contaminated.

Those pictures look like you're not kneeding the clay enough. Mine has never gotten that dirty because I don't use the same material that long. It looks like you could be scratching the paint with that many contaminents in the surface of the clay.

That's a good point; however, on this vehicle I was not worried about marring the finish as it was so poorly neglected anyway. I might as well have been claying with a scotchbrite pad... it wouldn't have made a difference with how swirled out the finish already was.

The reason I photographed this clay is because the car was less than 3 months old!

This is great guys! That's some FILTHY clay! I'll break the rules slightly and post up a vid of that 2000 Accord. This was the worst section of the car... :dblthumb2:

You should include before/after shots of the paint. That's what I thought this thread was when I clicked it.

That's a good idea. I have found it extremely hard, though, to capture the difference in a photograph of the paint itself. On white it may be possible but on darker colors seems like it would be impossible. I like to take shots of the clay itself to show the customer how much junk I got off their paint. Most people have never even heard of detailing clay and they are blown away by all the stuff that was bonded to their paint.
