I wanted to share with you a recent detail I performed for a client. Its a nice Bass boat that had a rough start.

Background:
My customer bought it used and its 13 years old now. It had some issues and a very hodge podge system for the electronics but it was in decent shape at best in terms of the gel coat. Old stickers were removed to reveal UV damaged areas and the like.

Process:
It was decided to run a standard run on this boat by means of a compound, polish and then a wax to protect it. It was TOUGH because at the time I did not have a rotary so I did it with my Griots 6" and used up a bunch of pads. It did the job BUT not time efficient by any means. The owner was pleased with the results but he has a severe case of OCS so fast forward after the snow melted.

He had the entire interior re-done. Seats, LED lighting system, new console, new shiny buttons and a revamped electrical system all the way around.

He brings it back and asks me to show him how to wet sand. We went over the basics and during the course of a week he did the top half of the boat that he felt needed it. I came in after and using Meguiars Marine Compound and a Rotary buffed it down to a super nice shine. He was very impressed to say the least. I dont have too many pics but here are some.

Before: She looks worn out. Oxidation City!

Looks amazing. Ive been talking to my best friend about getting some detailing stuff and mentioned to him that he could use it on his boat as well. I think I have him sold.
