I'm sure somewhere in the forums there is an answer but after using the search button and coming up with 50 pages I just couldn't find the answer.
I have a guy who wants me to detail his car but it is coming out of the body shop tomorrow and he wants it detailed over the weekend. Would it be to early to polish the panels that were painted? I have a pc and will be using m105/205 combo on the job. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so I googled my question and I found the answer (this site actually) looks like you shouldn't polish for 30 days on freshly painted surfaces.

...or wax. If using any silicone products keep them off the fresh paint.

You can polish as long as you use a body shop safe polish. Absolutely no wax though.

Is 3M body shop safe?

Most 3M products are body shop safe.

Back in the earlier days of painting 3M Fill-N-Glaze was about the only bodyshop safe polish I can remember using. Didn't last long but had a great shine! We referred to it as pink polish because of it's pink color.

I would imagine M105/M205 being a better offering than 3M products.

Ironically, Meguiars is owned by 3M lol.

Yeah after a car was painted we let it dry in the sun then got straight to color sanding, buffing etc... Now I know why. 3M is body shop safe.
