Compound/Polish hood scoop?

I have a hood scoop on my 2008 Mustang GT and getting ready to do a paint correction. I'm wondering what technique you guys use around sharp angels and curves like that.

tape the edges. use DA polisher around that area but do the sharp edges by hand

The scoop is also painted like the rest of the body and has Swirls as well.

you can use the DA on the flat surface of the scoop but the sharp edges should be done by hand
