So I got my PC7424XP and am setting it up to use. Now I know you need to have the washer between the backing plate and the retaining nut, but which washer? There is a larger black one and a smaller gray one that is slightly thicker than the black one that came in the kit. I can submit pics if needed.

Thanks.

The washer is a thin fiber one, there are various colors. You only need one. It's not usually plastic, but some sort of fiber.

Is the black washer on the back of the LC backing plates the only one you need or should I also use the fiber one?? Thanks

Just to add, after you use a single washer make sure the wrench can get in there okay. You might have to use the thicker one if things don't quite 'fit'.

Some backing plates are a tad thicker (the rivets) than others.

Make sense (not enuf coffee yet)?

Compression washers do wear out with use, that is if you remove and replace backing plates often you're going to wear your compression washer out.

Autogeek carries replacements...
