What's the last thing to go through a bug's head when it hits your car? It's butt!

Haha, just wanted to get this review off on the right foot. Below is the review of Diamondite's Bug Defense Kit. The kit includes Diamondite's Bug Blocker Gel with application sponge, Micrfiber scrubber, two bug scrubbers, Glasswork Shield windshield spray, and two orange microfibers.

First step is to ensure a clean surface before gel applicaton. This doesn't mean a complete wash. but perhaps a Spritz or Crystal Mist quick detail on the surfaces to be protected.

After your bumpers are cleaned, application begins by squirting the supplied sponge with the gel.

Don't forget to gel the mirrors, too.

Next comes the windshield. Like before, ensure the glass is cleaned. I love Diamondite's new Perfect Vision foam, which is what I happened to use today.

Apply the Glasswork Shield with a foam applicator and allow a haze to form (3-4 minutes). Once hazed, buff off until clear with the supplied orange microfibers. I found this step to be a little tedious and require some elbow grease. A damp microfiber made this much easier.

All good to go! As you can see, all of the protection is clear and will not hinder your vehicle's appearance for the sake of bug protection.

So, after the 2.5 hour drive (180 miles) across the middle of Love Bug Hell (Florida), this is the condition of the car...

Cleanup was pretty simple. Use the supplied scrub sponges for removal. Yellow for the paintwork and the waffle weave MF for the glass. Cleanup was relatively easy. Here are the final results after a mere 10 minute quick wash.

As Springer says it, "FINAL THOUGHTS":

The kit was a huge help. The gel was by far the most handy. The gel obvisouly doesn't prevent the bugs from splattering the front end of the car, this is inevitable. The purpose of the gel if to have the bugs adhere to it, rather than the paint itself. This means for a minimal and effortless cleanup.

As for the sponges, I still prefer my Pinnacle Safe Scrub. That block seems to be the best detailing tool ever created. Without any effort at all, the bugs are whisked away in two swipes, tops. With this kit's supplied sponges, the scrubbing was slightly more time consuming.

All of the goodies included make this kit a must-have for any Floridian during love-bug season. We all know the damage that bug carcases can cause to clear coats and taking all preventative measures is a must.

I suggest all summer-time travelers add this kit to their next order!

Thanks to Meg at the Geek for making this review possible.

Happy summer!

WOW! I dodn't know it gets that ugly in Florida. We don't have this problem in California, but Bug Blocker would be a nice product to apply before long road trips. Thanks for an awesome review with a lot of pictures.

I'm gonna have to get some when I go to the lakehouse in July. Only about 2 hours away or so....but the vehicles are nailed by bugs all the way up there.

yup. youre still going to have to scrub a little, but not nearly as much as you normally would without the gel. likewise, no clearcoat damage will occur.

This is great, I've been looking for something like this and your review sure helped. I like the fact that the bugs were removed easily. Very nice review in deed.

Thank you for sharing and by the way those are some wicked pictures...just the way a review should be done.
