I'm gonna let my friends use all the detailing stuff I buy from autogeek but i've spent $400 already so I'm thinking of charging them at cost as long as they help with the labour :P

Just wanting to know a rough estimate of how much product each step uses up / durability of pads. I.E how many sedans will it last me.

I'm leave out the equipment which i hope won't die on me.
Also I'm a total noob so i'll probably use more than I need.

Estimates on any of the following would be appreciated

Wash
-Duragloss 901 16oz ($5.99)

Clay
-Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine 128oz ($39.99)
-Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge ($12.99)

Polishes
Detailer's High Performance Glass Restorer 16oz ($19.99)
CG Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish 16oz ($27.99)
Menzerna Super Finish PO85RD 32oz ($44.99)
Lake Country CCS 6.5" Pad ($12.99)

Sealants
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 16oz ($34.99)

Waxes
Collinite 915 12oz ($32.99)
Collinite 476 9oz ($17.99)

Thank You

If I do a complete detail product cost is about $10-15 depends on car size.

and don't forget a % to cover shipping and handling.... they consume that part of your cost basis as well.

Thanks. I think i'll just charge them $5 per polish, sealant, or wax to keep things easy. That or charge in food :)

For something like $5-10, Id go for barter between friends. 6-pack of nice beer should get the job done!

Charge half of what they are making. Without out stuff you have they can't do the job and nobody makes money.
