Dual Action Polisher Pad Question

Hello all, for foam pads used to correct paint, when are they considered no longer effective or bad? Also, I see a lot of people prefer the flat pads over the other pads, for example the LC CCS Pads. Any reason why the flats are better?

I stoping using my foam pads for polishing when they start to fall apart and then I use them for other stuff. For flat pads are you referring to MF pads? If you are they cut better than foam pads and most people now days use foam to finish with.

Thanks for your reply. Oops, sorry I wasn't specific. I meant the flat foam pads. Why do more people like to use those than the LC CCS pads (the ones with the dimples in them)?
