We all know that Autogeeks are a very different breed than your average person. This thread is for everyone to share all the things that you've done that only an Autogeek would do! Car related or otherwise. Feel free to include any related backstories, photos, or other information you feel is relevant. And of course, have fun! :dblthumb2:

I'll start with the incident that gave me this idea:

You know you're an Autogeek when you insist on waffle weave towels for the kitchen. "But honey, it'll cut dish drying time in half!" Worth a shot, right? :p

They used to have those Mainstays WW dishtowels at Wal-Mart $2.97 for 2-pack. I might have a whole bunch that I use in the kitchen, bathroom, and another bunch I used for drying after a rinseless wash...

But I think you know you're an Autogeek when you have enough car products you had to put them in your will...

You know you're an auto geek when you only use a leave blower and an air compressor to dry your car cause you think everything will put swirls in the clear coat.

You know you're an AutoGeek when:

-You fold your washcloth 4 ways and use a separate cloth of a different color for your "undercarriage"

- you wax your model cars

- you purchase really nice model cars just to have something to detail inside your business office! (Did it!)

- You find yourself in long winded rants about dirty cars in traffic at whomever will listen, even if its the guy in the car next to you!

- you bathe your car more than you bathe your dog

- you find yourself avoiding walking through the parking lot because its a "horror show"

- You spend $50 on a special light so you can see swirls, just so you can decimate them!

- you name the RIDS in your hood that wouldn't come out

- you have an absolute TANTRUM when your cute 7 year old grandson surprises you by "warshing" your car for you...

- you can no longer allow ANYONE to service your vehicle for fear that it will inevitably come back damaged in some way

- you spend 5 minutes walking around your car after its sat in any one spot for too long

- you cart around a full detail bag/arsenal everywhere you go

- you spend more on detailing your cars then you do on cleaning your house

- you wrote poetry/haiku/epiphanies about detailing-
---------
"What you're seeing isn't how clean/swirl free the car is, all thats evident is how dirty/swirled the car is not."

---------

It is my greatest fear that, when I come to pass, my wife will sell off all of my detailing supplies for what I said I paid for them!

where ever you go, you think of what items you can buy at the store to detail your car.

When you are finally relaxing, from detailing all day long, to a nice movie with the family and you spot out every imperfection in ALL the cars in the movie instead of focusing on the movie itself. BLAH

You go outside during a tornado warning to watch the rain bead on your paint and then fly right off.

Your dorm room starts filling up with boxes from Autogeek because you couldn't wait to order stuff.

You come to auto geek lurking the forums for a month learning and realizing how much you don't know.

Yet regurgitate the information to a layperson in a casual manner like you've been detailing for 20+ years...

-you convince your spouse to take up a more expensive hobby just to justify your AG expenses.. ;)

You go to Cabelas and you go to the boat area to see what detailing supplies they have.
