So, I've got the vehicles to where I'm comfortable with maintaining their look and have even corrected carpet stains and used a clay bar. I feel that all I have left to learn is the actual correction piece through the use of a DA Polisher. Below is a list of items I plan to buy in preparation to remove any imperfections in the paint along, polishing, then sealing with wax. I just don't want to leave anything out:

Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Complete Polishing Kit (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-garage-machine-polishing-kit.html)
Griot's Garage 3 Inch Orbital Polisher Kit, Griots Garage orbital buffer, spot polish kit, motorcycle polishing kit (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-3inch-orbital-machine.html)
Mothers Professional Paint Restoration System (http://www.autogeek.net/mothers-professional-paint-restoration-system.html)
Griot's Garage 6 Inch Glass Polishing Pads, Griots Garage Glass Polish Pads, Glass Polishing Discs (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-glass-polishing-pads.html)
Mothers FX Synwax is a synthetic polymer wax for any auto paint! Mothers SynWax goes on like a paint sealant and shines like a wax! (http://www.autogeek.net/mo20016.html)

Any help would be great. I did have one question. Each GG kit comes with a cutting pad(to remove imperfections), a polishing pad(for applying polish), and a finesse pad. Is the finesse pad supposed to be used for applying the wax?

I just want to do this the right way the first time. Do I need anything else? Like pads, backing plates, or other items you wish you would've thought about before starting your first corrections?

Thanks AG!

You could save some $$ by just getting a 3.5" backing plate for the 6" machine instead of buying the 3" GG machine too.
Then buy some 4"pads. It only takes a minute or 2 to change backing plate, unless you're working it smaller spaces the won't 'fit' the slightly longer and larger 6" machine.

Just my $0.02.

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 4 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, Hydrotech foam buffing pads, spot polishing pads, dual action pads (http://www.autogeek.net/hydrotech-4inch-foam-pads.html)
3.5" Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate- porter cable 7424XP hook and loop backing plate 3.5 inch. (http://www.autogeek.net/lc-43085da.html)

I agree with Cartman scratch the 3inch polisher and get the 3.5 inch bp with 4 inch pads.

What about good mf drying towels and good polishing towel? Take a look and Meg's xpress wax d156 or chem guys v7 as well to maintain shine after washes.

I bought 6 woobie towels when they were on BOGO, very nice. I use Mothers Carnauba wash and Mothers Spray Wax after every wash. Great stuff! :props:

Ill agree, skip the smaller polisher and buy a backing plate for the bigger one. My 3" is relegated to headlight restoration now

Gotcha,

Well, it seems that my plans are on hold for now. I put the car into the garage wall when I got home and bent my fender along with some nice scratches on the bumper. So that money will go to repair the car.

Yaaaay...
