Hey guys I need some advice. I have a black 2001 Lexus. I purchased the car about 3 years ago with exceptionally low mileage. Fortunately, the car sat in a garage but it collected 20 or 30 scratches by being hit with the door from their other car. They attempted to fix the issue by applying touchup paint which is better than rust but it still looks bad. Here is my plan to correctthe touchups and I need to know what you think.

First, I'll tape each side of the touchup paint to prevent coming into contact with the factory paint. Next I'll wet sand the touchup mark using 3000 grit sand paper and the flat edge of a large eraser as a tool. Then I'll remove the sanding marks with 4 inch MF pad and D300, jewel with UC and 4 inch W8207 pad, #7 then wax with Gold Class. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

Here's a picture (I hope) of the touchup paint that I am attempting to remove...or minimize!
