My ladlord busted a line on his tow truck and Hydraulic fluid is all over. He is more concerned about the windows. I figure if I clean it, the next time he rolls the windows down the windows will get oil on them from the felt that runs along the door.

What would you use to clean it and how would you cleab the felt?

This is what I'd do..

First I'd tape off the section to ensure that nothing from here on in gets on the paint.

Use an air hose to blow through as much as possible inside the door
Use spray brake cleaner with the red directional spout attached
Liberally spray the felt rinsing the fluid inside the door
Spray an all purpose cleaner on the felt
Rinse with clean water
Wash the entire area with a warm water and Dawn
Rinse thoroughly
Air hose once again..

I don't know if it would hurt anything but at my other job, I am a maintenance mechanic for an injection molding company and we deal with hydraulic leaks all the time. We use alcohol to clean it up and it really does a good job. I think it's the 70 percent dilution isopropyl ( sorry for the spelling). We also use "pig mat" and that really pulls oil up to. I don't know if yours is that bad but I thought I would share that. Hope it goes well for you
