Not posting this and toting it as a definitive guide, but asking if there is one on AG? I have used the search function on here with too much of a broad finding.

I punched it into google and found a good amount of articles on separate topics on the sister forum.

Being that I am far more active here, I wanted to get some input on the use of MF pads.

I know that there are multiple companies that make MF pads, such as: Meg's, LC, and OPT.

The reason I'm making this thread is I was wondering if I could get input on three topics:

1) What are the pros/cons of MF vs Foam?

Personally, from what I've read, I know that MF pads cut more/faster. However, they heat up much more and require frequent cleaning. I also could not find a definitive method of cleaning pads. Common suggestion is to used compressed air. But that's about where it stops.

2) Is there a "best" or "preferred" brand?

3) How DO you care for MF pads?

As I mentioned earlier, there seems to be a wide variety of practices.

Before I had an air compressor I just used a little dawn dish soap and hot water and scrubbed them together. They do heat up and can dry out the polish and cause them to get crusty. Once they would wring out clean I would throw them in the dryer with my microfiber towels on air dry. Once they were dry I would hit them with a brush and brush the microfiber back to plush.

I've since tried compressed air and it is a ton easier. I hit some pads I had cleaned with the method above and a ton of dried polish flew out of it. It even brought the plushness out a bit. Now when doing sections I blow the old polish out and get it back to plush. Super quick now.

I have chemical guys F1 and F2 compounding and polishing pads.
