I have had very good results with Simichrome Polish.

You may not just get away with polish as you may get better results with compound and or rouge on a wheel.You may also have to use different grits of sandpaper to achieve maximum results due to pitting. :Picture:

Are they billet, cast, forged?

IMO...
Mother's has some of the best aluminum-polishes that
are specifically designed for any "aluminum-project".
