View Full Version : What Type of Pad is This ????

I got this pad at last years Detail Fest.

It was a DF only pad. It's 6.5". The person that gave it to me said it was a super fine polishing pad. I had a chance to use it today with Optimum Finish Polish and really like it. The foam feels really soft and dense. Closer to a Hydrotech pad than a CCS pad. Maybe its a Hybrid pad, I've never had those.

The front edges of the pad are rounded, like a 3.5" LC polishing pal red or white pad. The back Velcro part had a bevel or taper with can be seen in the picture to fit a 6" backing plate.

As you can see it has a red foam between the face and the Velcro. The red foam seems to be just as soft as the white foam. The while foam was off white color since it was new.

Maybe if they have these at this years DF someone could find out ???

I want to know too! I got 5 free with my griot's 6" orbital. And the page is no longer available to see what they were. The 3rd gen is all that is showing now. I think they were just wax pads, but I can't remember

I received some with my gg 2nd gen also .I went to label them and the link is gone now . I believe they are polishing pads tho most white pads are but i could be wrong .

I have those, I think. Those are the CCS pads with 2 color foams. Right?

These are a different type of foam. I'm no expert, but it seems like a closed cell denser foam. Closest thing to it I have is a Hydrotech. I'm thinking it may be a Hybrid? I know its very soft and for fine polish or wax. But, none if the foam colors match to what's on the market.

It's a great pad, buffs very smooth and the foam is very dense.

Don't CP pads use the same foam as CCS? This is a denser foam. Reminds me of the foam in a couch or the foam in Magna Sponge / CG Clay Block.
