off valve and fire hose nozzle? Saw some on another site that
looked much nicer and better made... But lots more $. Appreciate your feedback. Thnx

I personally dont like the fire hose nozzels, most of them are knock offs, i have heard the Bulls eye hose nozzel is very good though

This is the one I have. $15 at lowes. Along with brass shut off valve, and quick connects from both lowes and Home Depot

Dramm shutoffs and quick connectors are better than gilmour. Look for it at your local nursery or online gardening store. Gilmour stuff always go bad. I've had a few gilmour stuff go bad (leaking) within a year.

Do you like the gun style?

I like the disconnects that AG sells. I have at least 6. They appear to be Gilmour brand and have been working well. The Gilmour shut off is ok (mostly brass) but I wanted a full flow types (large internal diameter) so I like the one from Dramm.

I prefer the gun nozzle type sprayer over fire hose since you get fixed streams and does not change. However, I have not been able to find a durable one (RapidReel has a promising one) that does not start leaking after a year so I use a fire hose nozzle due to durability more often.

I have the shutoff and quick disconnects and I love them when using the foam gun it's great and really fast to switch

One thing to look for as to the 'quick connects'...how big is the opening the water flows thru. Some are really small, especially the plastic ones.

This shows a difference between two shut offs. The one on the left is a full flow Gilmour and one on the right is a Gilmour with less flow.

I havent had any problems with mine so far. Had it for over two years now. As far as the shut off valve, I would like to find the full flow model at my local store

:iagree: After one year of occasional use, my Gilmour quick connector was leaking like a sieve. Haven't tried any others. I just decided to go back to doing without.

I use all plastics QD and quick shut-offs because my pressure washer has a plastic inlet. Honestly, the plastic ones work exceptionally well. Only issue I've had with any of these things was with a brass on that the plastic handle broke off.

I use Dramm shutoff valve and quick connects, they have held up well over the years.
