So i finally was able to bust out my new bottle of Diablo wheel gel. My first impressions was that i dont see how a gel can really remove brake dust, and like most wheel cleaners there is a lil agitation required. I have used Iron x, Sonax Full effect, Meguiars Hot rims all wheel cleaner, and Megs Wheel Brightner.

So heres the bottle
http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o496/UltimateCarDetailingOC/2012%20Toyota%20Tacoma/20130312_185822.jpg
and like the instructions say 1 ounce to every 3 ounces of water.

http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o496/UltimateCarDetailingOC/2012%20Toyota%20Tacoma/20130312_185932.jpg

only used about 35to 40% of the bottle to fill up my 16 oz mercury DA bottle

Here are my weapons of choice for rims and tires

And here are the dirty rims

So i sprayed it down and let it sit for about 5 minutes and began agitating with my brushes and here are the results with very little effort

Final thoughts:
Compared to all the others wheel cleaners i have played with i would say this is the best so far, because when agitating it gets soapy and very lathering gives you allot of time to play with it. Megs All wheel cleaner i love because it cleans and foam the tires well.
Diablo 9.99 a 16oz bottle at 1oz product to 3 oz of water
Megs all wheel cleaner roughly around 10.99 to 12.99 and RTU maybe about 8 rims depending on the size of rims and tires.
Sonax requires allot of agitation and at 15 a bottle 16.9 oz
Iron x same as sonax 19.99 500ml
Megs wheel brightner 19.99 for A GALLON! apparently makes 16 32 oz bottles. it says no scrubbing to hardly at all required, of course depending on the severity of the rim.
Diablo best bang for you buck and time spent working on each rim. i will be buying this by the gallon from now on

Thanks for the review I've been fond of p21s for awhile for wheels and brakes, might need to try something new

This is a VERY safe wheel cleaner. It will handle the thickest brake dust, but if it's baked on, there are better cleaners out there.

Nice review! I almost pulled the trigger on this product when it was on BOGO! Man I regret not getting it now.

I use Megs All Wheel Cleaner, works well, but like you said its pricey for how little use you get out of it. Up next is Mother's Wheel Cleaner.

I will defenitely buy a bottle of this on my next order to try out.

+1

Love it for regular washing, great smell compared to a lot of wheel cleaners but not the best thing for baked on brake dust and tar. Probably have better luck with that using CG Citrus Sticky Wheel Gel or a more potent product like IronX or Meg's Wheel Brightener.

i mean if its working for you and its not a big hassle just stick with it, unless you do customer cars and its a lil cheaper out of your pocket?

:iagree: if its that bad i would just use my dyna cone and some fine to med cut metal polish to get that baked dust off. Luckily the truck is fairly new.

yes definately i agree the citrus sticky wheel gel is on my next CG order list, wheel brightner is so cheap and strong i would probably place that as #2 on my list for best bang for your buck

Diablo compared to Meg's Wheel Brightner is like trying to degrease an engine with bath soap.

Great review. Diablo is my go to for wheel cleaning, I also like the fact that it won't strip any protection that's on the wheel either.

If you have a good wheel sealant, soap and water should clean them.

Great review. I also use a foam trigger and get more use out of it.I have not noticed any performance differences from a regular trigger. Diablo is good, but caked on braked dust will need a second go around.
