Whats the best way to clean wheel wells? I have used an old wash mitt that I was about to throw out but I'm looking for what you all do.

I'm using CG Grime Reaper, but what else works well? Spraying with water alone isn't good enough.

I do exactly the same thing. I have a separate brush for wheel wells and tires and usually just use Meguiars APC+

I am going to try these scrubbers on my wheel wells and tires:

Special Purchase Microfiber Scrubber Pads, tire scrubber pads, cleaning pads (http://www.autogeek.net/microfiber-scrubber-pads.html)

I use regular car wash soap and usually do not dress them afterwards. They stay out of the sun and thus stay pretty black.

Optimum Power Clean or Meguiars APC+. It sometimes takes some good scrubbing with a terry cloth towel to clean some complex shaped plastic lined wells.

Might sound odd......a toilet brush and some APC
Most of them have round head bristle making it easier to reach the arch without being a contortionist.
If you're near a home depot, menards or lowes there are plenty to choose from, get the Zep APC from there too.

Is the Bare Bones any good? Is it safe to use in the engine bay as well? The CG website doesn't specify.

It's just a greasy silicone dressing. Nothing great IMHO.
