Regular microfiber towels when washing

Does anybody use plain ole rolled microfiber towels to wash their vehicle? Seems that most people use some sort of mitt. Any benefit of one over the other?

I just like the MF mitt, fits my hand and does a good job.

I use regular ole MF towels for waterless and rinseless, stick to a tradition wash media for normal washes.
