Three years ago I was very interested in detailing my truck. A new for me then (two year old) black Nissan Frontier. Those desires got dashed after awhile since I have no place to do it except for the hot dang sun. I mean usually by 0900 the body of my hot to the touch. I really was unable to deal with it and so over time I just forgot about it.
Lately I have been getting that desire back. With some of my tax money I picked up a Harbor Freight DA polisher (#69924) for $40. In looks it is very similar to the PC. Time will tell how it holds up but I don't expect to use it a lot. No side business or nothing. Just me on the occasion. The main thing holding me back was to have a place with shade so I went out today about bought a Quick Shade Weekender 100. It is the 10 x 10.
I bought a few supplies from Pep Boys today and had some from back when I first bought the truck. It isn't the high end stuff but it will have to do for now. Over time I will buy all the stuff I want/need and will do a polish job on it top remove the swirls. For the time being I am going to give it a good was, clay it, and then lay down some Turtle Wax Ice Paste.
I plan to start tomorrow and am going to try and take a few pics. I want to try and stay away from the automatic car washes that have already marred the paint and make it look nice again and watch the water bead up when it rains instead of sheeting.
