Can I use a 5" or 5 1/2" pad on the backing plate that comes with it or do I need a 6".

Thankshttp://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif

Mine came w/ a 6 inch BP, I use a 5 inch BP for a 5.5in. pad.

Hey Randy,

I think it would be wise to add a smaller backing plate to your arsenal for pads of this size - otherwise you run the risk of "whacking" (technical term) stuff with the backing plate that is larger than the pad.

I have the Griot's and got two smaller backing plates - no regrets...:xyxthumbs:

Thanks. Any particular backing plates you recommend?

x2 To the OP: It is recommended to match the backing plate to the pads you will be using. Lake Country pads and Lake Country backing plate.
