I am using Dawn to clean my pads. Is a pad cleaner worth it, or is it hype. XMT BOGO is reason I ask. Thanks

Heard good things about it but never tried it, it's got 15 reviews and 5 stars across the board, so it must be decent. I got to much other stuff to use before I buy more cleaners.

Out of all the cleaners I have tried I always go back to dawn.

I've been using Detailer’s Pro Series Polishing Pad Rejuvenator (http://www.autogeek.net/dp730.html) in my pad washer and it works very well...

I did a review on a few products including the pad washer and Pad Rejuvenator (http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailing-product-reviews/39102-blackfire-total-polish-seal.html)....

+1 on the Dawn and for really tough polishes or LSPs I use Dawn Power Disolver from Walmart at $2.83 per bottle.

Snappy Pad Cleaner and elbow grease serve me well.

Xmt pad cleaner is good stuff. I use it all the time to clean my pads or applicators. I'll use dawn with sealants or waxes that are tough to get out of pads, but then I'll spray them down with xmt to get any residues out. It works great cleaning polishes out of pads. I recommend it for sure.

I agree. If you can afford it, that's the motto to go by.

I think a pad cleaner is worth it. I'm assuming you mean "pad cleaner" like the liquid cleaner, not the bucket looking machine.

I think the BF is the best on here. However, you can get 95% of the results by getting the Wolfgang/DP/Snappy powdered pad cleaner and mixing 1oz in a 32oz spray bottle with water. Just mix it and use it as a spray.

I used to use Dawn and hated it. You can wring the pads out forever and bubbles will keep coming out of the pad. Maybe I'm very picky, but I had to keep doing it until every last bubble of soap came out off the pad. I spent a lot of time using it and often thought I never got all of it out.

For LSPs I soak pads in mineral spirits/IPA mix (50/50) overnight and wring them out in the mixture the next day. Rinse well with water and all of your LSP will be out of the pad.

Thanks for the great responses! I think I'm going to give it a try. Something else to add to the arsenal.

The only liquid cleaner I have tried came from CG. I also have the Grit Guard pad washer and that combo works great.

I use Wolfgang Pad Rejuvenator. Little pricey but it cleans way better than Dish Soap.

It really does restore my pads to just like new!
