It's orange outside. Ash falling all over. Collier county is damn near surrounded.

Earlier today in Cape Coral you could smell smoke. It also looked hazey outside because of all the smoke from brush fires around the area. Luckly Cape Caral is almost all houses on cannels so it's hard for a fire to spread here. My house is surrounded by water with only one road in.

I guess its good that we are also surrounded by water , just need the fire to go the correct route.

Ocean in front on me, intracoastal and canals behind me..bring on the fire..lol.

When the Everglades have a fire though, our area get's a nice smoke screen:eek:. And that damn ash get's everywhere.

As the day went on it just get smokier and smokier. By the end of the day it did taper off though. There is so much "brush" around Collier.

Hey Mike T, have you ever heard of the firestorms that happened around San Diego, California? I forgot what year it was but it was maybe 2-3 years ago. Ashes everywhere and the fire was close to my community, but the fire wasn't able to reach the houses close by me.

Check out this satellite photo.....I live in central Florida and I'm getting smoke from Georgia and N. Florida! It was hazy/smokey all day yesterday and light ash all over the place. Time to go buy a fire hose nozzle;)

Yeah I've heard of Firestorms. Pretty scary.
One of the fires in our end of the county has burned 13,000 acres. It destroyed 1 home, 2 mobile homes and killed 2 horses. The likely cause of the fire was a lightening strike Sunday night.

With all these brush fires and people here living close to them..I want to say I hope you all are safe from them...

Remember..if any ash is on the car remove it ..it will get very acidity if a dew or water mixes with them...it will etch very fast and also stain CC..

That's pretty stubid to do this time of year with everything being so dry. The smoke is not noticable today in Cape Coral.
