Got my PC 7424XP today. I went for the HD model. Can't wait to give it a try. Ordered an extra Lake Country Back plate and got the kit with you pick the 6 5.5 pads. The only thing they forgot to put my extra LC 5 pak of compression washers in the box. Email sent hope they respond quickly. I wish I would have waited now. Today 15% off and free shipping. Oh well. For my order shortage maybe they will send me something worth the 15% off.

Many times the special discounts don't apply to polishers--better check the small print.

As to needing the infamous washer...IF you lose it, take a run to your local hardware store and check out the plumbing area. You should be able to fine an almost exact replacement. NO STEEL WASHER!

Just for safety sakes, when you get a chance, measure the washer. That way you will know sizes etc.

RE: The PC 7424XP HD Version's: 'HD Power-Cord'

-You may just wish to acquire, or fabricate for yourself, a Detailing-apron
with a similar cord-holder...as depicted below:

I have plenty of denim aprons. I've buffed long enough that I won't need that loop.

There isn't a washer mod for the PC. It's just important to use the supplied washer. However, most backing plates come with one, so you really don't need extra unless you plan on loosing it.

As swanicyouth notes, this isn't a "washer mod" like for the Rupes, just that some backing plates if you lose the washer may rub the counterweight housing or it may be difficult to get the spindle wrench in. Most backing plates have an undercut beyond the threads and the washer has been pushed over the threads and is retained in the undercut, but I have a couple of backing plates where the washer can come off. I suppose also through use the washer can get squished out a little and loosen up and fall off.

I think that might be a MF apron not denim. What ever you use it should be soft.
