We need to start a jeep thread !
See what everyone has on AGO.

Whas the spider web top used for ?

It's shade mesh that gets strapped to the rollbars. Knocks out most of the UV and keeps the temps down but you still get some open air feel.

Note this is not my image, it's from their site. I don't seem to have a good picture of it on my Jeep from last season...

Thanks

You have a nice looking rig as well.

I have a soft spot for all black Jeeps!!

Thanks :) It's not actually black though. It's the 2012 Black Forest Green color. When the light hits it right, the green comes out. Here's a shot from last summer after a full polish, seal, wax.

I regret selling mine too... :awman:

That's one heck of a nice jeep. You can see my 2002 in my profile picture... rather, what used to be mine. :'(. I sold it to a close friend after gas got too expensive and I regret it every day! Luckily though, I get to see it often and he takes decent care of it. Sometimes seeing it so often is a good thing, other times it's bad because it makes the longing for a jeep worse. lol

It was a really well kept TJ with a modest lift and modest all-terrain tires. If you've ever shopped at Quadratec, (I'm sure you have) I actually won a full set of Bushwacker pocket-style fenders at one of their annual jeep shows. My profile picture is before those flares though, I'll have to find a picture of them to upload sometime. Ohhhh the memories...

One day I'll have another, I know this in my soul. Maybe even a 4 door! :xyxthumbs:

EDIT: I found a picture with the fender flares that I won. It was from a CG Blacklight review I did before I sold the jeep. =O The memories! http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/picture.php?albumid=410&pictureid=2569

Looks awesome ^.
How did you maintain the black plastic ?

I normally used Meguiar's ultimate trim detailer on the fenders and rocker panels. That tends to give trim a slightly glossy look, but the trim on my jeep was textured so it came out flat. Other than that, I sometimes used Poorboys world natural look dressing but didn't really like the results. Granted, that wasn't an ideal product for exterior trim though.

It did the job. You kept it in great shape.
What where the pros n cons of having a tj ?

I don't know that I would be able to accurately compare the TJ with anything else. That's the only model I ever owned. =D

What I can say is that the interior was a little flakey compared to the newer JKs, but I do like the exterior appearance of the TJ's better than the JK's. In my humble opinion, the TJ's were the last jeeps that remained true to the classic jeep look. The JK's stray from that a little too much for me. That's not to say I wouldn't buy a JK though, I would take one in a heartbeat. :xyxthumbs:

All in all, any generation of Wrangler is awesome. I just prefer the classic look of the TJ's and older gens. On the other hand, I prefer the more civilized interior elements that are inside the JKs.

I'll definitely have another wrangler one day, for sure. I miss my old TJ. =/

I agree with 100%. I love both the older jeeps and news as well.
I'm trying to find a daily driver instead of my cmaro and I'm leaning towards a tj.or YJ. They are so easy to work on and some last for several thousand miles. I've seen some at 300k mark !

They certainly do last forever. My friend that now has my jeep (There I go again, calling it "My" jeep... ='( ... ) is nearing 150k with it I believe. Too bad he isn't a detailer at heart. Maybe I'll throw in free details for the sake of saving my baby. lol
